Studio Owners & Instructors

Hi!
We are Rhoda and Raymond Keprta, owners and instructors
at Bottletree Studios.

We offer adult classes in paint, mixed media, and clay that are designed for all experience levels– from complete beginners to those ready to refine their skills in a supportive and inspiring atmosphere. If you want to develop a hobby, relax after work, take a workshop with friends, or enrich a date night, let’s have fun and make stuff!

Ceramist

Raymond Keprta

When it became time for me to expand my life creatively, ceramics proved to be the perfect medium to build upon
my professional background in
geology and mechanical engineering.
My knowledge of minerology, thermodynamics, design, and
a lifetime of building and tinkering makes pottery a satisfying and challenging medium to work in.
I have been involved in ceramics since 2005 and have studied under numerous clay artists located in the DFW metroplex. I am constantly looking forms and textures to add to my clay work. I am inspired by the shapes, symmetries, and rhythms found in the natural. All my glazes are formulated in my studio and
many of the recipes are my own.
I also make many of my own forms, templates, and tools as well.
I enjoy and appreciate the uniqueness of handmade products and artwork.
Art should be a part of everyone’s immediate surroundings. When I see someone fall in love with one of my pieces, I know I have provided joy to someone through my art.

Rhoda Keprta

Painter

I am a retired elementary art educator.
After serving 22 years in Arlington ISD,
I facilitate group art classes supporting skills and nurturing creative expression.

I encourage experimentation and exploration of personal style through hands-on exploration.

Visual art is a rich, symbolic language.
I explore personal expression through
paint, clay, collage, and fibers.
Sharing this energetic currency is a deep form of communication.

In my classes, students gain confidence with materials by building skills with
water and oil painting media, collage, weaving, and stitchery.
